Description

The Manta Ray is the largest of all species of rays, up to 30 feet wide and weighing nearly 3 tons. He lives in tropical waters, often not far from coral reefs. What characterizes this planctivorous creature quite peaceful and harmless, it is obviously its two large fins or “wings”. His black back contrasts with his white belly on which are arranged 5 pairs of gills. It has in front of the head, 2 horns particularly impressive which earned him the name of “devil of the seas”. They are filter feeders and eat large quantities of zooplankton. Particularly graceful, the Manta Ray evolves in groups of a few individuals and sometimes is approached by divers.

Papo’s figurines are hand-painted and made from durable synthetic plastic. Highly detailed with a natural color-scheme that replicates the real animal, making the figure extremely realistic looking.

Measures approximately 7 inches wide by 5 inches long.
